Easter Anticipation in Staying Connected

So now it’s 4pm and I think I almost got my head screwed on straight for the day. After my first client, I had a two-hour gap and I was FINALLY able to unload, load, and run the dishwasher, wipe down the kitchen counters, and finish unloading the things we got from COSTCO that my husband was too lazy to find space for with just enough time to spare in order to eat my lunch. Now I’m lowkey hoping my next client doesn’t show up, because I still really need to take out the trash, water my plants, and try to stuff our winter comforter in a drawer under our bed for storage until next winter.

…ope! The second I typed that I got a text message from the office saying the client canceled. Is it bad that I am so relieved?? breathes sigh of relief

Our new mattress arrived a few days ago, but it’s been sitting in a giant box on our living room floor because I left the task of getting rid of our current mattress up to my husband and he had to jump through some hoops. Eventually we came to the conclusion that we have to put our mattress in our back alley and then “report it” as large garbage that needs to be picked up by the city. The legal route would be for our HOA to pay to have it removed for us, but they don’t want to do it and this was the suggestion they gave. We are planning on doing this tomorrow on our lunch break. I can’t wait.

The last thing I wanted to mention today was all the ways I’m gearing up for Easter this weekend. I already put together an Easter basket for my in-laws with a luxury candle and some fancy chocolates. I’m planning on sending tulips to my parents’ house and picking up tulips to give to my in-laws with their basket. In addition to that, I asked what food we could bring, and they said, “something sweet.” I’ve decided to make brownie bottom cheesecake bars. So I’m going to have to swing by the store to pick up the ingredients Friday night (since I didn’t think of this before we went grocery shopping on Monday), and then I think I’ll actually make the dessert on Saturday night after work. That way it will have overnight to solidify in the fridge.

I’m getting excited for my daughter to wake up on Easter morning to discover her Easter egg basket and Easter egg hunt. I just hope she sleeps well the night before Easter so the surprise doesn’t get spoiled during some overnight wakeup.

Speaking of overnight wakeups, I was all on my own for a few weeks while my husband nursed a back injury, but he’s pretty much back to normal now and THANK, GOD. Last night he was able to soothe my daughter back to sleep every-other time she woke up (a total of 4 times), and it made a huge difference for me. I am already relieved to have his help again, and it’s only been one day.

All right. I’m going to use the next 35 minutes to do the things I mentioned in the first paragraph. Happy Wednesday! Until next time <3
