The day is off to a very nice start!
It was my early wake up day, and my daughter slept in until about 6:30am, which is a win in my book. Lately she’s been waking up closer to 6am, and 30 minutes makes a big difference. Not to mention, I actually made it into bed by 9:45pm last night, so I don’t feel exhausted today. My level of energy plays a HUGE part in my productivity and mood—so major bonus points in this category this morning.
Yesterday three of my clients canceled, which freed up time for me to deep clean my kitchen. I was able to unload, reload, and run the dishwasher, hand-wash the dishes that require handwashing, put all of the miscellaneous shit away, and wipe down the counters and appliances, including under the stuff on the counter (like the bread box, toaster, coffee maker, etc.). What a difference! It definitely made waking up this morning that much sweeter.
Another big factor is my daughter’s mood. That’s a crapshoot on most days, and this morning she was in good spirits. Victory! She even let me make my breakfast and eat it with relatively little disruption; this is something she used to do often, but not so much lately.
Then, if all of that wasn’t enough, somehow my husband got up, got ready, and got himself and my daughter out the door before 9am. This is pretty much unheard of! Usually, I’m trying to usher them out with barely enough time to get ready for my first client; meanwhile, my husband is angry with me for taking all of the relaxation out of his day off work. Not today, though. Today was all smooth sailing. And now I have an hour and a half to get dressed, brush my teeth, and do my hair.
Oh, guess what else. About ten minutes after I posted my entry yesterday, the baby yellow gown arrived weeks before expected! So that was fun. I totally put it on and pranced around the house like a dork in the few minutes I had between clients. It’s a little bit short (it’s supposed to be floor length), which isn’t a huge surprise. I’ll just have to be mindful about what shoes I wear with it. It’s still a little early to schedule my hair cut and color and the maternity-family photoshoot, so I added those things to my calendar for later this month.
I think I’ll use my time now to clean up the living room floor, paint my toes, and, if there is time, try to catch up on some studying before I see my first client. I think I’m going to be able to catch up on the day I fell behind by next week. Time is flying, you guys. I can’t believe I’m only about 7 weeks away from taking my licensing exam. Ahhh!
This is what the next five months are going to look like:
March: Finish cleaning patio, paint toddler table, rearrange furniture, dust wooden surfaces.
April: Easter, clean the floors in living room, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
May: Licensing exam, try to do nice things as a family of three, revisit financial situation.
June: Baby shower, maternity-family photoshoot, get out car seat, swing, and lounger.
July: Last day of work (July 2), have a baby!
Until next time <3
