Here we are, still with power and water, hooray! I did dishes, then proceeded to bake a ton of cookies for our lovely neighbors who not only dropped off a bunch of assorted groceries, but also shared some FANTASTIC soup they made in an enormous pot usually reserved for crawfish boils. I laughed at how huge it was.
I did venture forth during a warm point of the day (a grand high of 34°) and hit up a Dollar General. No way I was going to make it over to an actual grocery store… There was a bridge between here and there, no thanks. Once I managed to clear off layers of ice and frozen snow from my windshield and completely around my wipers, driving was fine.
They’ve cancelled all school until Monday, including online, because of the power outages. We’re supposed to get more snow and ice overnight, so things could still get bad again, but we have a bathtub full of water and most of our dishes are clean, so I’m not too worried. I do feel bad for our neighbors, who still don’t have power.
Not much else to report. Everyone is good here, kittens are doing well. We’re keeping the bird population well-fed. We did sucker my MIL into taking 2 kittens! Yesss!
