Human rights abuses in China are none of my business.
Western Youtubers shilling for the CCP are exploited by the regime and are exploiting the system has been set up. They are in it for the money.
And for the lifestyle. Internet famous is the best kind of famous.

They are producing bland videos, watched by millions of Chinese people, many overseas, others tapped into the world wide web over proxy. The positive attention from foreigners are making them feel great and groovy. It’s a sham and a shame.

Chinese people feel proud of all the way they have come. They have buried the past, left behind the poverty, the cult of Mao, the civil war, the war with Japanese colonizers… all the humiliations of their last 200 years are not spoken about.
We are the next great power. Let’s make China great again.

That is why human rights abuses in China are none of my business. It is their young country again. The democracy that we foist upon others is dubious. Unreliable.
China gets a new start. Let’s see how far they go before they run out of rails. They are on their way up. Let’s not start kicking them until they are on their way down again. We all know that great empires can fail spectacularly.
Or they can just fade away like like a fart at a picnic ground.

So I’ve pretty much given up on Youtubers in China and Taiwan. They had a good run, longer than the Vanlifers I got to know so well three, four years ago.
Like the Vanlifers, I found with the China and Taiwan based Youtubers that the videos became repetitive. But what’s worse is that the China based Youtubers started doing unboxing videos for household products, visiting vegetable farms. Those are just paid advertisements.
