Okay, lets see.
Yesterday I decided to send my brother the link to a craigslist ad for an old “Midge” barbie for $65 with a text that said, “You should get this. It’s a collectible.”
He said, “I already have it.”
And I said, “I knew it was your taste.”
That was my way of meeting him where he’s at. If he wants to continue this shenanigan, that’s fine. I feel better about it all now.
My registry for Morgan has been keeping me busy. It currently has more items on it than the registry for my first born ever did, granted most of the items are smaller and less expensive. I have a much better idea of what we’re going to need this time. For example, I know to ask for things like burp clothes and baby laundry detergent. I also realized that many of the hand-me-down’s from my older daughter won’t work for Morgan because my older daughter was born in the winter, and Morgan is due in the summer. So, I included some summer-wear in the registry as well.
I just got off the phone with my parents. I told them my plan to rearrange my bedroom furniture after my doctor’s appointment next week, and they let me know that they are going to buy Morgan’s crib and nightstand for me. It’s very nice, and very exciting! Since they’re going to buy that stuff, I think I’ll buy the wooden sign that says “Morgan” to go over her crib as well as the little apple beanie and an apple swaddle that she can wear in her newborn photos. Then I’ll do my best to wait and see if friends and family buy the other stuff on my registry.
I don’t think I’m going to do a baby shower or “sprinkle,” but I’ll just wait for people to ask for my registry link of they want to. If they don’t, it shouldn’t be a big deal. Other than the mattress (I wonder if my parent’s are going to get that, too…) and the crib sheets, everything else is under $20. Well, I guess I did put a $60 baby carrier on there, because the one I had for my older daughter was a hand-me-down and I never liked it. But that’s not a necessity anyway.
I’m just getting excited now. New baby!!
All right. Time for me to get to work. Until next time <3
