The new coffeemaker arrived, works great. It’s got functions and fashions that don’t need, or appreciate and will never use. Such is life. I’m not going to set a timer. I don’t know when I will be getting up tomorrow. Those days of strict regimen, like a setting winter sun, have quickly faded into the distant horizon, well behind me. Now you see it.
Now you don’t.
I’m not the kind of guy to rush through things just so that I can get on to something else. I like to linger, like a traveller at a money changing kiosk with money to change and time to kill. I’m here for a transaction and an exchange.
The scabs on my head are healing well. One is barely visible. The other will leave a L-shaped scar, at least for a while. So if I shave my head, it will be visible, a conversation piece. Maybe I could get a word with an L-shaped letter in it tattooed there.
(L is an L-shaped letter.)
Maybe: WHAT YOU LOOKING AT? (Confrontational)
Maybe: 100% Canadian Lumber. (Humorous)
I once met a guy who had ‘your name’ tattooed on his dick. It’s a great gag. It’s a story I’m sure I’ve told here before.
Maybe: A Locker of broken dreams and half-baked ideas. (Inspirational? Poetic)
Life is full of hard knocks.
E is an L-shaped letter too.
V might work.
Such is life. It’s about the alphabet and coffee makers, tattoos and changing money. Life is multitudinous in it’s offerings, a cornucopia of ideas and possibilities and like an Asian themed all-you-can-eat buffet, you’ve got to pace yourself, choose wisely and search out the far reaches where they hide the good stuff.
I sometimes think that there should be more songs about warm blankets and wool socks. There should be songs about Campbell’s tomato soup with Premium saltine crackers floating on top. There could be songs that start with the sound of the furnace kicking on or the gurgling of the coffee maker.
Maybe: Such is Life.
