This slim, easy to read book is a joy. It's the story of a woman who lost a book... and lost track of the brother who'd taken it from her. It's also the story of the woman she hires to find her lost object. As the lost object is a book, the "finder" gets a copy of it to see why it might have so much significance in the woman's life.
On the journey, there are family issues on both sides, lots of history/geography/scenery of California - in both San Francisco and Los Angeles.
There's a book within the book as the author wrote both this framework story and the story that is portrayed in the lost book.
It's a fun read... brings you in from the first page.
And, last, but not least... Susie is my cousin!

So then it's your brother who took the book? Hope he read it while he had it. ; )
