I put on JS Bach and a Toronto walk to start my day. I’ve got my coffee and lots to do (and lots of time to do it). I’m avoiding the news. The news has nothing to do with me. I start my day with a quick look at my email inbox and then my youtube statistics. For some reason, looking at my youtube channel stats, just like I used to look at my google analytics blog stats ten years ago, gets me grounded for the day. Rarely a day starts without a quick look at internet stats.
Everyone wants to build, but no one wants to do maintenance.
I listen to a podcast as the coffee brews. I admit that it is a news podcast about today’s election. I need to know that the world didn’t come to an end overnight.
The coffee was a gift from a specialty coffee roaster place near the train station.
I noticed that all three of the coffee places on High Street have closed now. Starbucks is still open.
Johnny Strides has 20,000 subs and a new camera, the DJI Pocket 2. I’m still toying with the idea of starting a walking around channel. I have a similar camera, the Fimi Palm, which is perfect for this kind of video. The lav mic will be here any day now, all the way from China.
It’s a big commitment. It would mean a daily stroll, but there is no post-production.
One and done.
Most things are easy to start. It is the continuing everyday that is hard. One day you just say to yourself, “I don’t feel like it”, and then the streak has ended and maybe you take another couple days off and then you never return. Starting and knowing that you have to continue is much harder.
