I was listening (and singing along) to the song I Can See Clearly Now this morning while I was getting ready for work. About half way through the song I realized just how much this song did not apply to me right now in my life. I went from upbeat to in the dumps just like that. It was a great way to start the day. I had a good weekend over all. On Saturday we went to the local mall to get some things for my wife’s costume. She has to dress up for work. I was surprised at the number of people walking around with no mask on. It bothers me a little that people don’t seem to care very much about the well being of those around them. I hate wearing my mask but I do and I don’t understand why it is so hard for others to wear them also.
I went out looking at cars with my friend this weekend. I have not drove in 16 years and I thought that having a car for myself and my daughter might help elevate some of the pressure on the transportation front. I can to the realization that we can afford another car is we choose to go that route. The best part was the sales person. We had my friends granddaughter with us and when we went on the lot S. said that “we” were looking for a second car. The salesmen spent the next 15 minutes dancing around the topic until I walked away and he asked what our relationship was. I could tell the moment I got back that something happened because he said to me “so is it just you and your wife or will there be other drivers?”
I purchased a pair of chairs for the playroom to replace the couch which is getting a little old and worn out. Some times I just want to bitch slap my wife (before someone reports me to the police I mean that figuratively) I called her from the store and sent pictures of all my choices from love seats to different chairs sets. I finally called her and she told me just make a decision, she did not care. So I did. 20 minutes late while I am checking out she texts me and said she liked the loveseat and that getting chairs would be a mistake. UGH She then told proceeded to tell me the same thing when I got home. Well to bad so sad, you had a chance to give some input and passed it up.
We saw a terrible accident on i-4 on the way home. Car flipped across three lanes of traffic and landed on its roof. It was right in front of us and was like something you would see on a dash cam video on YouTube. By the time we got up the car it had settled to a stop and I was surprised how relativity easy it was to get the doors open. It was kind of a faith restorer helping get them out of the car and onto the side of the road. Makes you realize there are still people in the world willing to stop and help. Only one person had their camera out. I was shocked at how well they came through it. No blood or broken bones. Makes me want to buy a KIA.
