So I got stung at work by a yellow jacket. I am allergic to bees. They wanted to give me Josephine’s epi pen but if it isn’t assigned to me I don’t want to take a risk. I went to mom. Mom went in the yard and grabbed plantain crushed it up and placed it on the sting I took 2 chlor trimeton reduce the swelling. I went to Wal-Mart bought some Sting-kill to put on it. By the time I went back to work hour and a half later the swelling was gone. My bosses wanted to know what I did to reduce swelling I was to embarrass to admit my grandma survived the great depression and she taught us that remedy plantain really pulls the poison out! I have used that many times in my life. It is helpful. Thanks grandma Dilly.

Never would have thought to use plantains. I'll have to remember that.
I use a tomato slice for burns. Anything acidic will take the sting out of a burn.

I always use baking soda...I make a paste out of it....works like a charm. I'm glad the plantain worked, too..that's good to know!
