Things continue to go well!

Yesterday the long anticipated storage-cabinet-tree shuffle went well. Everything looks so much better in the new places. The tree that is now in our living room is over six feet tall and four feet wide at the top, so it brings a really nice aesthetic to our space. When we transplanted it into the new pot, a bunch of the long tiny roots were torn off. I read that when that happens, it may stunt the trees growth for a while (which would be totally fine!). I just hope it doesn’t start dying now. That would be really sad.

Today is the day my app predicted would be my next period. So far, no sign of blood. I bought some pregnancy tests from Amazon this morning, so we’ll see how the next few days go.

My husband is back to working full time hours as of today. It’s about 2:30pm at the moment, and so far my day has been going swimmingly. This morning I made some homemade hummus that turned out fantastic, and I ate it with some bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and avocado. Ugh. So delicious. I also had a fruit bowl with cantaloupe, strawberries, honeydew, banana, and some lowfat vanilla Greek yogurt. My mouth and tummy are both extremely satisfied.

My daughter helped me with the dishes and the laundry and now she’s down for her afternoon nap. When she wakes up, we’re going to leave for a nice, nature walk on the beach. I know a path that is more of a hike, so it will be nice to go somewhere different than our normal beach boardwalk.

I just ordered a bunch of stuff on Amazon that I am now looking forward to receiving! I got some bamboo skewers which I’m going to need to make greek chicken kabobs. I also got two t-shirts and a pair of yoga pants for myself and a 5-pack of assorted tutus, some sandals, and some refrigerator magnets of foods for my daughter. Fun stuff!

Finally, tonight after dinner, I am planning on doing a COSTCO run. So that should be pretty uneventful, but it’s always nice to get out of the house and move around. There will be plenty of that for me today.

Sometime in the next week we have been talking about having our daughter do her first overnight at grandma and grandpa’s house. They’ve been telling us for months that they’re ready when we are, and we decided we’d like to try it on our anniversary. I wanted to do a trial run, though, before our anniversary. That way, if she freaks out and is crying for hours at bedtime, we can go pick her up and it won’t be interrupting anything. Then, on our anniversary, we can plan our day knowing ahead of time that an overnight is off the table for now. I don’t want to force it on her if she’s not ready, and I don’t want to feel riddled with anxiety on our anniversary because we’re totally inexperienced with overnights.

It feels like a big step to me. I’m a little emotional about it.

All that’s left to do is install the roller shades and clean up, and I’ll be doing a video tour of my condo. I’m probably way more excited about this than anybody.

Until next time <3

Ooh... what’d you put in the hummus?

Original Rose The Thirsty Oriental ⋅ July 14, 2020

I used a recipe I found online by Cookie and Kate. I used chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, olive oil, salt, and water =)
