People on instagram fascinate me. They put on a big show but have nothing to prove from it. I see people go on expensive vacations yet in real life they cant afford gas to get to the end of their driveway. I see people brag about relationships yet either this relationship got true issues or only 1 person knows its existing. I see people trying to look rich and impress people who are strangers. It reminds me of the quote they are trying to keep up with the Joneses or Kardashians since i need to use modern lingo for people to understand. I think it would be fun doing photographs about faking being rich and actually admitting you are flat broke! Maybe proving people that “status can be faked” will prove to people it is better to be grateful for what you have. Be realistic.

I've never really paid attention to IG in that way. I've heard there are people like that on there, and that makes such little sense to me - and kind of silly. Plus I've no desire to keep up with anyone! My ex was always trying to keep up with the wealthier members of his family, and that just left him feeling grumbly all the time.

My friends and I are on Instagram and I don't think we are representing ourselves that way. What I see on their posts is authentic and I know mine are. But I'm sure, as with any social media platform, there are people showing everyone the person they wish they were, not the person they are.

Man, I'm using Instagram wrong. I've been posting pictures of guinea pigs and my indoor garden. But I am very proud of my hydroponic Basil. So I feel like everyone needs to see it.

I just post cat pics and what I ate for breakfast...tbh I do get jealous of the fancy places people go everyday....they make it out like they travel everyday...even tho half the time it's "tbt"
