You guys.

My sister wasn’t able to get the babies pictures taken for Easter because Covid but now that places are opening up… and being she paid for the session she was offered to take the Easter pics or any other kind. She still stuck with the Spring/Easter theme and I’m so glad she did because LOOK AT THIS CUTENESS.

MY HEART.
I just love them so much. The pictures. The babies. Ugh. <3333333333333333

But HI GUYS.
I’m back at work now. Booo.
I have a quick update about the weekend.

Thursday was landscape day! I am just so excited that it’s done. It’s not as cute as I wanted. It took about 4-5 hours so it wasn’t bad at all.

Obviously things will look better once grass grows on the side and plants grow more but… see what I mean about it needing something? I think a few painted flowers on the left side would be cute. The entire garage needs a paint job but yeah. That’s a project for next year. I’m decently happy with it. Could be better but it’s an improvement.

After the landscaping was done, we showered and went out for Sushi. It was the first time we went out to a restaurant since like… February. It was EMPTY and so clean. So so so clean. Like, I felt so okay being in a restaurant at that point.

We had a relaxing night.

Friday: We woke up for “adventure”.
He told me on Thursday that he had no idea what was going to go on so bring a pillow, blanket and a change of clothes just in case. So I did.
We headed north. I need that much because he wanted to make a pit stop here:

He makes fun of me because I loooooooooove cream cheese and this place had deep fried cream cheese so he needed to bring me here. Lol. It wasn’t great. Any of the food. And we had to stop at a store to get Pepto because we are NOT used to eating like that now.

We drove a few places, just went to see small towns and stuff. We ended up in Door County. He’s never been but I have been. We didn’t explore much because by the time we got up there, it was around 5. So many cute little shops were already closed. Parks were closed. It took us a while to find a hotel because most were 2 night mins. We found ONE that wasn’t and it was $300/night but it was a nice enough room. A suite so kitchen area/table/living room. It was outdated so not worth $300 but whatever. We walked next door to go eat.. which we thought would be okay but nah. Apparently they don’t do the social distancing thing up there. Packed restaurant. No one wearing masks.
We just ate (and did not diet at all and it was DELICIOUS). and went back to the hotel. We had a couple beers at dinner and I wanted more so we ventured out to Target (the only store open…) and we got a 6 pack and some games. We went home and he turned on the TV so no more beers or games happened. We passed out pretty hard. (Oh. The pillows and blankets he wanted us to bring was in case we couldn’t find a hotel room and had to sleep in the car. Lol, no. I would have just went home!)

I realized I forgot my hair stuff and makeup and ALMOST wanted to go to Walgreens and buy some cheap stuff but I didn’t. I was going to go makeup free. I just struggle with my EYEBROWS (or lack of). Especially in summer the sun lightens them so I look like I have none. I don’t ever wear foundation anymore so that’s not a problem. I just need eyebrows. Lol.

But I’m glad I didn’t buy anymore because we did not go anywhere.
He was frustrated because he wanted to go a few more places but they were closed because.... Covid. So we just went home… and the second we got home we cleaned. He vacuumed, I did laundry and unpacked. We sat down and I turned on The Office. He passed out. We lazed around then went to my sister’s for movie night.

It was chilly but it was nice because no bugs.
We watched Up. Baby boy got scared a few parts and cried and wanted to go in. Andy kept passing out. We went home and went straight to bed.

Sunday: Woke up, eventually went outside. He cut the grass, I edged, I tried this new cement cleaner spray and it didn’t work at all. I need a pressure washer. I moved all my furniture, sprayed it, let it set… scrubbed it all so much… sprayed it off and nothing. Annoying.

I got a text from my niece (23 year old) asking if I was busy. She never texts me so I knew there was news. And I guessed right away what was going on. I went inside and Andy was gaming.

“Hey. Ashley texted me”
“Oh? She never texts you”
“So, that means she’s either pregnant or engaged.”
“Maybe both?”

He looked concerned, for me.
Because he saw how I handled that news before.

She announced a pregnancy at Christmas. I cried which people thought was from happiness but it was hard for me to accept because I’m 34 years old. I want a family but I’m getting old and while I’m at a better place now than I’ve ever been… I’m not THERE yet and it was hard to see my niece get it before me.
She wasn’t very far along. She ended up having a miscarriage about a week later and I felt terrible.

I texted my sister asking what was going on because she was at my other sisters… and I knew my brother (niece’s dad) was going over there. She said, “you should stop by. That’s all I can say”.

I showered and got ready and went over there.
She’s pregnant. She’s 12 weeks now and she asked me to do the gender reveal like I did for the twins. I’ll be the only one to know the gender.
I handled it a lot better this time around.

I texted Andy the news and he asked me if I was okay. Lol.

I am okay. I’m happy for her.

I think that’s alllllllllllllllll.
There was some more wedding talk this weekend. Andy said, “I wanted to take something like this (while we were up north) as an opportunity to propose but I just haven’t been able to go to a store because of Covid but I have been looking”. We talked guest lists, venues and price stuff a little bit. We’re basically always on the same page.

Do I think a proposal is going to happen in the next few weeks? No. Lol.
Maybe next few months.... maybe. That’s a hard maybe. So I guess my dreams of a 2021 wedding are out the door so.... #wedding2022?

Hopefully. Otherwise I can kiss my dreams of having two babies goodbye. Lol.

ANYWAY.
It was a nice weekend away and like always- it sucks going back to work. Not because of work itself but to clean up after the mess that was left. Ugh.
So I need to go work on all that. Nothing was done while I was gone. Thankfully it was only two days and it’s not that bad.

The Rocky Mountain June 15, 2020

Wait, he planned a getaway and didn't plan for a place to stay? OMG. Dudes, I swear.

Empire of Lights The Rocky Mountain ⋅ June 15, 2020

Nothing was planned. Lol. We didn’t know where we would end up. He knew a general area.

SilentEcho June 15, 2020

I wish he'd have planned things a little better with Covid being a thing right now so you could have had a better experience especially for that price! And the fact that you crapped on your diet with shitty food :( That saddens me. It sounds like you made the most of it and were BUSY!

Empire of Lights SilentEcho ⋅ June 15, 2020

Ohhhhhhhh girl. I was so glad for a diet cheat. We easily could have made better choices but chose to diet cheat. It was deserved ... and delicious :)

The adventure was okay though! He wants to go back sometime and now we know better to get up there earlier. I was just happy to be out of the house.
