Another one is coming. in 2020

  • I got my flowers yesterday. The ones I ordered for myself. The ones I paid $65 for. Yeah. They suck. I mean. I KNOW flowers are expensive but this is dumb. There are bouquets at the grocery store floral dept that look better than this for $20. So that’s what I’ll do from now on if I ever want flowers. There was a while there when I first got my house that I’d get a lot of fresh flowers to have. I stopped doing that for a while but I might start it again because… flowers are needed in my world.
  • Speaking OF flowers.... I’m making my mom come over tomorrow. I may love flowers but I seriously SUCK at planting them. I don’t know what it is. A few times my mom has come over and planted my flowers in my planters and they’ve been find. I kept them alive. They looked great. Then it seems like the years I’ve planted them- they die. Maybe I do them too close, too much, too tight, too loose? I don’t know what I do but I just can’t do it. So I was talking to her about it and she said she’s bored and will come over whenever. We’ll be outside and distance so it shouldn’t be a problem. It’s supposed to be nice so I’m excited.
  • That means I have to go and buy flowers though. There’s a small home shop by my house that’s always empty though. They have a small outside thing set up so I’m going to stop there. I don’t need much. I have 4 planters to buy for. I already have my flowers for my window box. If they don’t have what I need, I’ll run to the garden center at Lowe’s or Menards. I’ve been trying to avoid Menards but we’ll see…
  • My grass seriously needs to be cut. We’ve avoided it for a little while because we planted grass seed with mulch on top but… it didn’t do anything. It’s been TWO WEEKS and now a blade of grass. So that was a waste of $20. I should have bought normal grass seed like I planned. I’ll make Andy mow the lawn this weekend and get new seed down. I just want a nice yard!!
  • OHSPEAKINGOFNICE. I’ve had a giant loan I’ve been paying on for … 5+ years now. I am sending off the LAST PAYMENT tonight. Guys. This is an extra $500 a month I’ll have! With Andy helping with the bills and now being paid off, I’ll actually be able to live a normal live and not paycheck to paycheck. I’ve struggled with money so much in my life and I’m just happy that I don’t have to struggle anymore.
  • My eventual go to’s are a new car. I need a new car. Mines a 2009 and… she’s getting old. I need new tires but I don’t really want to drop $1,200 on it right now for NICE tires. If I went the cheapest route, it’d be around $700. But I’m not going to rush into a new car payment right now. It’s so nice without one. I’ll fix her where she needs fixed and hope to get another year out of her. Save up some money to have a nice downpayment and get a newer (used) car. I have no problem buying used. Or maybe even lease a car. Pros/cons? I never drive. I wouldn’t go over the mileage of a lease. I like new cars… when I was younger I got a new one every few years and it didn’t make sense because I’d just turn myself over because I owed more than I got for the car. In this case- a lease would be great. But then I’d always have a payment. Maybe I’ll just buy a car and pay it off again and not have to worry about a payment for years. Who knows. I need to do research.
  • My OTHER to go expense (besides a bedroom) - is a fence. I need to write an entire other entry about this because I need opinions.
  • I showered this morning and didn’t want to straighten my hair but really didn’t feel like doing a whole curly head routine so I just threw some light hold gel in there, a dap of curl cream and hoped for the best. Wishful thinking. My hair is a god damn mess.
  • Also, my work has this nice new touchless faucet with a light in our kitchen. I need one for my house. It’s so nice. I also need a dishwasher because I’m sick of dishes. Even when Andy does help (which he has been a lot lately because I told him this isn’t anywhere near a 50/50 partnership so he’s been trying).
  • We made a low carb biscuit and gravy for dinner. Add THAT to the recipe book. It was delish.
  • Ok I’m gonna go work on the other entry for your opinions.

Congrats on the debt payoff! Woo!! I'm chipping away at my credit cards since I can't take trips like usual or do anything in quarantine and it feels pretty good.

My dad swears by zoysia grass. He does it in the plugs and you spread them out and plant them in your lawn. It stands up really well to heat and needs less water, and it works well so that you have less weeds which grow so much faster and make you have to cut your lawn faster! I'm sure it's more expensive but it's easier to take care of- my dad never waters the lawn or anything and it's never dead like my lawn here.

Oh THANK YOU. I will def look into this because nice grass is my goal this year. Lol. I have so many weeds :(

I'm too lazy to care but eventually my dad will prob do it in my yard too just so that he doesn't have to cut the grass so much... because he won't let me pay someone so he does it. lol.

I want flowers so bad but I've been looking and they're just sooo expensive delivered so I guess I'm just gonna wait until I feel comfortable going to the grocery store again. I wonder if any of the farms around here put flowers out too. I'd like that even better!

Jealous of your dad cutting your grass. I used to pay for a service until I got cheap and started doing it myself. Lol. I HATE IT.
But now I can make Andy do it :) The benefits of live in boyfriends.

Hopefully you find a place!

Chris is already like... this is my job isn't it? I'm like.. YUP! Cuz I'm never doing it!!! hahaha.

I realllllly want an outdoor shower at my house. I'm only a block and a half from the beach but also I love showering outside from years of being a beach baby! Last night, we had a huge horseshoe crab overwash in the marsh and I was legitimately covered in mud and I'm like... this is why I NEEEEED the outdoor shower! That's my next goal for sure but also I need a new sink because mines tiny and awful, and really a whole new kitchen, and new toilets. lol. And floors in the kitchen and bathrooms that aren't awful linoleum that is now coming up because it's warping. hahaha. Home ownership is fun isn't it??

Being that close to the beach sounds wonderful. You lucky girl.
Hopefully you get your outdoor shower soon!! Homeowner IS so much fun... haha. I just want to do so many projects and there's never enough time! Or funds. Or skills.

My ideas are way bigger than my budget and i feel like i am always paying something off!!

Empire of Lights DE_mkately ⋅ May 15, 2020

My mom always told me, "Oh project at a time! You can't get everything done at once".
I hate that advice because I want it all done now.... but she's right. It'll all get done eventually :)

Is your house your forever home? Do you see yourself there a long time?
I told myself my house was only a few year thing because it's just too small. It'll be 9 years in December so that was a lie. Lol

Haha. I love my house but theres only one living space so i dont know what happens if i have a couple kids. Chris has 3 already but only one that lives with him all the time. But for sure were having a couple babies if we keep on this road. He works even farther from my house than i do so right now we have been talking about my house being a weekend house maybe but without him in the picture, if i have kids alone, i think this is my forever all the time house. But also with no one else in the picture ill never be able to afford the reno id like to do here haha.
